Anti-Culture: Pluto in the 11th, Aquarius, Uranus/Saturn

“Culture is not your friend”

Terence Mckenna

We are all weird.  Some are faster to admit, but when it comes right down to it: we are all pretty damn weird. And what is weird, but different and wonderful. With Aquarius, the 11th house, and Uranus/Saturn we are dealing with what Jung called Individuation process.  Individuation–from what I understand (I’m no Jungian Psychologist)–is the movement towards our true (authentic) Self.  The movement can be scary–especially if our friends or culture don’t agree with our Truth.  When Pluto comes into the picture, we then experience the emotional trauma’s associated with this Archetype: like alienation, confusion, isolation and genius. Lets allow Jeff Green to illuminate:

Pluto in the Eleventh House or Aquarius: emotional trauma can occur for these individuals for the following causes:
1. When they realize that the lifestyle that they have been living is not reflective of their actual nature, or when their lifestyle is radically altered through cataclysmic events which they seem powerless to alter.
2. When they experience being intensely used and manipulated by others who have been considered friends or lovers, or when their friends or lovers seem to turn against them for no apparent or legitimate reason.
3. When the overall culture treats these people as iconoclastic threats in such a way as to create a reality for them of always being on the outside looking in.

When Pluto transits the Eleventh House, forms stressful aspects through transit to Uranus, to planets within the natal Eleventh House, or to the planetary ruler of the Eleventh House these issues and subsequent traumas can occur.

As Terence states in the opening quote, “Culture is not your friend,”  we must wake up to the limiting aspects of our culture, and become aware of how it limits our spirits from shining.  Culture is nothing more than a mental construct.  In many ways, it is shaped and catered towards fulfilling a mysterious “someones” needs.  For example, why, in our culture, are alocohol and tobacoo the only legal mind altering substances, when they cause more death combined than most forms of cancer? Is it not to propituate slumber and weakness in the masses…? All the while, the more constructive and liberating substances of the Earth are made illegal.  God forbide we see through the bullshit.  And so, when a person in our culture decides to live outside of the prescribed ways (ie. not drinking or smoking or participating in the madness) they are then alienated from a great majority of the culture.  It’s unfortunate, but true.  Pluto in the 11th challenges us to take the leap, no matter what the fight we are forced endure with our culture and friends.  With diligence, we can then breakthrough into our True Individuated state.  Only then do we have a future worth living for.

Technogypsy

Def: (gr/am/pd)–A wandering person who is both connected and disconnected from the rest of the world, surviving due to the advances and advantages of sophisticated, modern technology.

2. a “homeless” person, who isnt quite homesless, but is “home free” using technology for the advancement of their Soul.

….Smart phones and their connection to the 3g networks are changing the way life can be lived on this planet.  As long as a connection exists between computer and network, anything is possible.  You can be in the middle of the jungle, at the foot of a volcanoe in Hawaii, and still communicate with the outside world; You can give a reading, or teach a class from the steps of a temple in Kathmandu; You can be virtually be anywhere on the planet, and still stay tuned.  On top of 3g networks, we are seeing the sprawl of WIFI networks across the globe, making life–on one level easier–on another, mysteriously more difficult. Techoculture is detached. Its a kind of anarchist realm of self delusion, totally ungrounded from the rules of our dense reality (Saturn). Rules of communication are constantely being redefined.  People who were once shy, are now popular socialites on their blooming blogs.  Saying what you really mean isnt as difficult through the techno web, maybe because the consequences are less extreme– they hardly even exist.  Use Facebook as an example: How many of your friends are actually your friends? How many have you ever met in the flesh? How would you define your relationship to them? Have you experienced appaling behavior in your inbox or on your wall and wondered why……What to make of this? Our emotional bodies become confused: electricity and water have a strange affinity.  We have always been warned about what happens when you lick your finger and stick it into the socket; well, what about your Mind? It is affecting organic life in ways we have never seen.  Some say the bees are going because of the electromagnetic radiation dancing through the atmosphere, while others will argue its pesticides and MonsantoOOo (the “spawn of Satan”).  Whatever your stance within this technocracy, you are affected.  You cannot hide.  The rate of change on the planet is increasing exponentially.  Novelty is increasing to such a degree, we can’t keep up.  Like a Juggernaught of Information, we can choose either to surf this static wave, or be taken under.

Astrologically, we are speaking of Jupiter/Uranus once again, but also the decade old mutual reception between Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius (one could argue the timeline of this actually going all the way back to the last Saturn/Jupiter conjunction in 1990–the birth of the Internet).  We have yet to truly find out the health consequences of spending countless hours with our machines.  We are clueless to the repercussions of being a technobrat.  But one things for sure, we will all see eachother on the  beaches…washed ashore by Finnegans startling and nearly impossible Wake. I know my place ( I think?): its as a Techogypsy.  With my Iphone and Macbook, nothing is stopping this Dreamer (Neptune on the South Node, Sag).

Uranus….and Jupiter…….in Aries

…Flashes, like lightening on a New moOn night

With Uranus now in Aries, and Jupiter not too far behind (it will join on the 5th of June), what is to be expected from this ecstatic handshake? (The moOn will also be with them on this exciting day, bringing more awareness to the transit.)  Being that Aries is the reset point in the Tropical zodiac, the beginning of the Herculean journey around the Sun, we can definitely expect serious change.  It can be explosive, like volcanic (Aries), it can be Visionary, like LSD (Jupiter), and it will no doubt be Rebelious, like the Beatles “Revolution” (Uranus).  Now, all astrological buzzwords aside, what are we really dealing with here? I mean, there is always “change,” and “vision,” and “rebellion” on some level….what is the timely perfection of this transit all about?

First thing, we cannot  forget its realitionship in the Grand Cross, with Pluto, Saturn, and soon to be Nodes of the Moon.  The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction is opposing Saturn, and squaring Pluto and the Nodes.  They are all in Cardinal signs, representing “new beginnings.”  The oppisition to Saturn is vital because Saturn is attempting to control and restrict our personal freedoms.  We can expect attempts from world governments to tighten their suffocating, white knuckled grips on the populations of the world.  Without going into conspiracy theories, it can also be expected that revolution and war may be on the table. Just 80 years ago, Uranus began its transit of Aries. (similar to today). There were major events at the time, including the Great Depression in America, and the rise of Hitler in Germany. The results of the depression led to revolution in farming techniques, banking methods, business practices, social organization, governmental spending, and living standards in general.  A new world emerged.

Whether World War 3 sprouts from this stellar movement or not, isnt the point.  The point is that life on earth has become stagnant on many levels, and now its time for a change.  We have become fragmented, lost in the matrix of technology, and too many privledged people are living their comfy sheltered lives in mansions on the outskirts of “Gotham city.’ If we are to continue “business as usual” we will die.  It really that simple.  And so, we change, we unite, we grow food, we love eachother more, we become more compassionate, we behead our leaders (jk), and we build a new world….or else…….?

And this is only a sample.  By Summer’s end, both Jupiter and Uranus will retrograde back out of Aries into Pisces again, and give us more 3d movies, pharmecutical drugs, and reasons to postpone our plans for another day.  But in 2011, when they return for good, its on, and there will be no escape.  Collectively, we will be faced with the demands of these two cosmognaughts, and there will be no place to run.  So what to do?

Build a community, plant some seeds, and most of all: Be fearless and Play!!!!

to understand the Grand Cross…

…we must first simplify it.

The Grand Cross is an aspect in Astrology.  It consists of 4 squares between planets or angles, creating a square (a 90 degree aspect between two points).  A square is a challenge; a deep need to create a new form to hold the energies moving in.  It can be traumatic, difficult, and absolutely liberating.  And so, with “the Grand Cross” happening now, consists of: Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, Mars and the Nodes of the Moon. (I am speaking of the climax in July in the chart on the left).

the cast of this galactic tea party:

Pluto in Capricorn:

Somewhat of the focal point of the Cross, Pluto is the cancer eating away at everything unhealthy is the world.  If something is isn’t serving us fully, Pluto will destroy it, giving the blessing of another life. Think: the system, bipartisan parties, imperialism, slavery, and all crimes against humanity and nature,  you will then be in the right neighborhood..  Last time Pluto was in Cap, the US became a country in the wake of Revolution. It is Kali standing on the corpse of her lover, holding a severed head.  But it is also the ecstasy of rebirth.

Saturn in Libra (with Mars):

In search of a destined harmony, Saturn in its exalted sign Libra, “gets serious” about restoring order into both the lives of men and nature.  The question, “Do I need this, or do I want this” will be a helpful mantra for the days to come.  To find harmony from disharmony, we must learn to listen–to our bodies and our environment.  This includes your loved ones, and the impossible ones. Learning to listen will give us what we need, and not what we want.  If everyone did this, the world would change in an instant: a flash followed by familiar amnesia; a terribly exciting moment. Saturn is a Zen monk with a large bamboo staff, attempting to restore order in the universe; he does this through karma!

Uranus/Jupiter (with the Moon) Aries:

Vision. War. Non-acceptance….and…. Anarchy?  Combining these two cerebral deities into one mutated form, is like an epiphany that wont stop coming.  It allows us to see into the future, to better assist us in our planning of it.  Astrology works well here.  Uranus is also seeing into the past, attempting to learn from our past actions–even those of our past lives, and from our ancestors. The Moon here is like the “program” we are running, Uranus/Jupiter are “the Matrix.”  We are being reprogrammed; and the contrast between our old version of self, and our new, will be like the Ipad Touch vs. Cuneiform tablets.  Sometimes it brings war, because of this contrast between the ‘new and old.”

The Nodes of the Moon  (Cancer/Capricorn):

“The evolutionary axis of Consciousness;” gives us alternate angle into the past and the future.  The nodes show us how to understand potential and kinetic energy. The Nodes “change” whatever they touch.  In a universe of No coincidence, having the Nodes involved here can be likened too a dragon finding its tail.  The Nodes are the “ultimate” balance of consciousness, the Ouroborus. When we experience the wisdom from both sides, and bring them into a proper balance, we can feel liberated; free from the duality of “who am I,” “who was I then,” and “who am I to become,” instead, we will remain in tranquil surprise at the simplicity of this universe. We can finally relax.

…it is also important to note, this is happening in Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), meaning “New Beginnings.”  Cardinal energy is a supernova flash: discovering, expanding, and applying to “All things.” It is the moment we have all been waiting for: our 2012 (but actually 2010), our revolution and re-vealation. The end times? I think not, it is only an exciting wave–so grab your board!!!

And guess what?

Its already happening.  The earthquakes and volcanoes, the sloppy spills in the Gulf, the missing bees–it is mother nature taking over.  I like to think of the Earth as having an immune system too…and what happens when parasites or bacteria get into our bodies? Our bodies repel them and begin the healing right?  It doesn’t mean the Earth will swallow us, but it does mean she is sick, and she is on her way to getting better.  The Grand Cross represents this delicate moment in time, kind of a ‘Healing crisis’ of planet and mind.  And as One mind, one magical and divine Gaian mind, to talk about the Earth is to talk about ourselves–we are the ones who are sick.  We are cells within this planet, and co creators of our destinies.  There is an awakening happening.  Millions of people are remembering the simple things: Life, Love, and Happiness.  As more and more awaken, we will confidently step into the next “golden age” where human beings live in symbiosis with the intelligent universe. It is already happening, this remembering; aKosmicMind is awakening..

so,

DONT BE SCARED!!!!

rejoice in the hands of this ancient mother, she will catch you.

Aquarius qlarifications!

Uranus

Many people confuse Aquarius with both Gemini and Sag. That’s understandable as all 3 archetypes relate to the mind in some way.

Sag is discovering the underlying nature of all things.  Gemini is discovering the things of nature.

Both those archetypes have something to do with exploring reality in some way. Aquarius is not about either of those.

Aquarius is about evolving the brain… which translates to tapping into the potential of human being.

There are two facets to Aquarius that is well know: Freedom from the past (breaking free from conditioning) Accessing the future (inventively realizing new, smarter, evolved ways of being). Both those facets are intimately linked. In order to realize new potential, one has to liberate from adherence to the way things have been.

Objectivity

The only way to liberate is by developing an objective consciousness. This means the capacity to detach from any expectations of what anything is supposed to look, smell, taste, feel, sound (etc…) like.

Trauma

What keeps a soul in a state of limited awareness that prevents the clarity to see things as they are? The answer is trauma. Reality does not go out of its way to make sure no one gets shocked. All souls comes from numerous past lives in which it has witnessed and been subject to unspeakable persecution, death, oppression, rape, destructions, sudden and unexpected experiences of all kinds. Liberating from those shocks (by way of seeing it clearly without the interference of a subjective point of view) gives rise to a profound inner freedom to simply BE who one innately is. This means accessing the natural potential of a human being truly free from fear, repression or inhibition.

Friends

Friends and community are also commonly understood via the Aquarian archetype. The reason for this is because each soul gravitates and attracts to themselves other souls of like mind. Remember that the Aquarius archetype correlates to the mind- one’s natural intelligence, and the potential of that intelligence. The degree of intelligence accessed in a human being will differentiate one from the next. For example folks that are living purely within consensus values will not form community with folks who are living radically and experimenting with new ideas.
