FloOded by a thee Taurus moON

…it all started like a Tom Robbins weather report: ‘it was a sort of languid and retired morning, no animals felt like moving, birds we not singing their songs.  Walking by the Boulder creek, towards my favorite meditation spot, I stop to take a pee.  As soon as I begin, over a dozen people appear through the clearing. They were pointing and looking at the river.  Startled, I covered up, and walk away. As I climbed out of the soggy grey cottonwoods, I was accosted by a female cop, just doing her job (she was beautiful…an important, yet pointless detail I suppose.  But perfect for a Taurus moOn).  She tells me I cannot be down there.  I innocently reply, “Well, whhhhY not.” (all the while thinking its about indecent exposure, or something).  She says, “Its about to flash flood;” I fire back, “the 100 year flood…?” She crosses her fingers, and give a hestiant smile: “hopefully not.” I made it as far as the library before I got kicked out of there too.  Flood paranoia!!!

It is said the moOn is “exalted” in Taurus.  Meaning it is powerful within this sign.  The waters of Luna surge, the mind and emotions, are more potent.  Assisted by the Grand Cross, and the movement of Jupiter/Uranus into Aries, this Taurus mOon seems to have recieved an extra boost in Boulder town.  We are overdue.  This flood is past the 100 year marker, and it is expected any day now–or any minute.

…and so, I return home.  On my way, this Mississippi deta blues tune slides me into another frame of mind.  I become sullen and swept away.  I see an Aftrican Amercian homeless staple to Boulder, walking with his sack, with perfect posture, diligently moving away from the river.  It was a mini Epic of my day.  When I get home, my new tent awaits: its called the Neptune.  I set it up in the living room, and fall into a deep deep sleep, waiting for the floods.  I dreamt of Hawaii, and a new life.  I dreamt of Neptune. I felt like Alice, swept, but not completely away.

Ahhh, the Taurus moOn.  Whether exalted or not, I really like the way you Feel.

to understand the Grand Cross…

…we must first simplify it.

The Grand Cross is an aspect in Astrology.  It consists of 4 squares between planets or angles, creating a square (a 90 degree aspect between two points).  A square is a challenge; a deep need to create a new form to hold the energies moving in.  It can be traumatic, difficult, and absolutely liberating.  And so, with “the Grand Cross” happening now, consists of: Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, Mars and the Nodes of the Moon. (I am speaking of the climax in July in the chart on the left).

the cast of this galactic tea party:

Pluto in Capricorn:

Somewhat of the focal point of the Cross, Pluto is the cancer eating away at everything unhealthy is the world.  If something is isn’t serving us fully, Pluto will destroy it, giving the blessing of another life. Think: the system, bipartisan parties, imperialism, slavery, and all crimes against humanity and nature,  you will then be in the right neighborhood..  Last time Pluto was in Cap, the US became a country in the wake of Revolution. It is Kali standing on the corpse of her lover, holding a severed head.  But it is also the ecstasy of rebirth.

Saturn in Libra (with Mars):

In search of a destined harmony, Saturn in its exalted sign Libra, “gets serious” about restoring order into both the lives of men and nature.  The question, “Do I need this, or do I want this” will be a helpful mantra for the days to come.  To find harmony from disharmony, we must learn to listen–to our bodies and our environment.  This includes your loved ones, and the impossible ones. Learning to listen will give us what we need, and not what we want.  If everyone did this, the world would change in an instant: a flash followed by familiar amnesia; a terribly exciting moment. Saturn is a Zen monk with a large bamboo staff, attempting to restore order in the universe; he does this through karma!

Uranus/Jupiter (with the Moon) Aries:

Vision. War. Non-acceptance….and…. Anarchy?  Combining these two cerebral deities into one mutated form, is like an epiphany that wont stop coming.  It allows us to see into the future, to better assist us in our planning of it.  Astrology works well here.  Uranus is also seeing into the past, attempting to learn from our past actions–even those of our past lives, and from our ancestors. The Moon here is like the “program” we are running, Uranus/Jupiter are “the Matrix.”  We are being reprogrammed; and the contrast between our old version of self, and our new, will be like the Ipad Touch vs. Cuneiform tablets.  Sometimes it brings war, because of this contrast between the ‘new and old.”

The Nodes of the Moon  (Cancer/Capricorn):

“The evolutionary axis of Consciousness;” gives us alternate angle into the past and the future.  The nodes show us how to understand potential and kinetic energy. The Nodes “change” whatever they touch.  In a universe of No coincidence, having the Nodes involved here can be likened too a dragon finding its tail.  The Nodes are the “ultimate” balance of consciousness, the Ouroborus. When we experience the wisdom from both sides, and bring them into a proper balance, we can feel liberated; free from the duality of “who am I,” “who was I then,” and “who am I to become,” instead, we will remain in tranquil surprise at the simplicity of this universe. We can finally relax.

…it is also important to note, this is happening in Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), meaning “New Beginnings.”  Cardinal energy is a supernova flash: discovering, expanding, and applying to “All things.” It is the moment we have all been waiting for: our 2012 (but actually 2010), our revolution and re-vealation. The end times? I think not, it is only an exciting wave–so grab your board!!!

And guess what?

Its already happening.  The earthquakes and volcanoes, the sloppy spills in the Gulf, the missing bees–it is mother nature taking over.  I like to think of the Earth as having an immune system too…and what happens when parasites or bacteria get into our bodies? Our bodies repel them and begin the healing right?  It doesn’t mean the Earth will swallow us, but it does mean she is sick, and she is on her way to getting better.  The Grand Cross represents this delicate moment in time, kind of a ‘Healing crisis’ of planet and mind.  And as One mind, one magical and divine Gaian mind, to talk about the Earth is to talk about ourselves–we are the ones who are sick.  We are cells within this planet, and co creators of our destinies.  There is an awakening happening.  Millions of people are remembering the simple things: Life, Love, and Happiness.  As more and more awaken, we will confidently step into the next “golden age” where human beings live in symbiosis with the intelligent universe. It is already happening, this remembering; aKosmicMind is awakening..

so,

DONT BE SCARED!!!!

rejoice in the hands of this ancient mother, she will catch you.

Happily humbled by K.N Rao

I was humbled last night.

After reading a 25 page interview with the great K.N Rao, my perspective on life collapsed to be reborn.  There were words he said, with soOOoo much potency and meaning, I couldnt help but surrender to.  On his training, he mentions, “I was never allowed to keep the horoscope in front of me. I had to see it once and have a clear visual memory of it. Further when the analysis proceeded, I was trained to dynamically visualize the various planets, their aspects, positions etc. In fact as the training progressed, the verbal analysis would unfold itself as a visual dance-drama inside of me. Further I was required to do many of the intricate calculations mentally. I can unequivocally say that this method of training, more than any skill per se, has helped me immensely in practicing astrology.” The role he plays as an Astrologer, has altered the course of my entire life-especially my relationship to my “astrology career.”

……To podcast, or not to podcast, this is the question.

Welcome to aKosmic Mind.

Here is a blurb:

Question: Being a well-known and highly reputed astrologer, does it not put an added burden on you for being scrutinized and repeatedly tested on the accuracy of your predictions? Does protecting your image and stature sometimes stand in the way of you practicing astrology in a free and unfettered fashion?

KNR: One of the reasons why an astrologer often feels burdened is because of lack of practical understanding of astrology among the clients. That is a real problem. For example, there is no acceptance or understanding of (1) variability brought out by inherent uncontrollable uncertainties such as inaccurate birth times or (2) acceptable error limits. Everybody wants perfect answersevery single time. That is never going to happen no matter how good the astrologer is! Does the world abandon the science of aeronautics and space exploration if the space shuttle crashes due to errors by the world’s best scientists at NASA? The answer is no – they learn from their mistakes and improve. But astrology is thought to be something “out of the world” which is simply not true. Everybody is subject to laws of nature including the astrologer, and each of us works under the gamut of Maya. Why then forget the Will of God? As the great Tulsidas has said, “Haani-Laabh, Jeevan-Maran, Yash-Apyash, Vidhi Haath” (Profit and loss, life and death, fame and infamy are in His hands).

My experience is that, often times, it is the unnoticed and unquoted individual predictions which are truly inspired. They give great internal satisfaction to an astrologer. Sometimes such predictions get great publicity through informal channels and grapevine. After hearing about these predictions people come to the astrologer with great expectations. These expectations (or for that matter any expectations) create a preconditioned mind to “hear” a very highly favorable or certain type of predictions that would alter the course of people’s lives. For instance, I predicted in one case that the boy would become an engineer, go to a foreign country, marry a foreigner but would remain afflicted with an incurable ailment. Fifteen years later when events took place exactly as I had predicted other people came running to me to hear a similar prediction. If you do not give them a similar prediction they feel disappointed and sore. Why should I put a strain on myself and try to live up to their expectations? From my personal experience I have learnt that being true and honest to myself is the only way to live one’s life harmoniously. This brings you peace and a palpable proximity to God. Isn’t that the true purpose of why Jyotish was revealed to us in the first place?

Question: On a final note, would you like to give any advice to aspiring astrologers?

KNR: My advice to aspiring astrologers is to do their astrology quietly. They should not seek publicity or promote themselves, and let their good predictions earn them a good name. It is how so many, including me, started. It is only in 1983, after more than forty years of practicing astrology, that I was dragged into the limelight, much against my wishes. And if an astrologer can practice as a service without charging any money – it is the best. Or leave it to the client to donate what they wish. Never demand or put a price on your service. I know I am old-fashioned in this matter – but for a good reason. (Note – I asked K.N. Rao about charging money in the West for astrology services. He said, “It is all right in USA. Do as you have been doing.” – Vaughn Paul Manley 7/5/05).

A
strology is a revelatory science and it is revealed, not by aggression but by faith and surrender to the divine. Always remember the four “Mahavakyas”[47] of astrology – Have Faith; Be Diligent and Practice Patience; Humbly learn from your mistakes, and Live a Life of Service. Then the divine lotus of astrology will open within you.

I do hope you take the time to read this one.  It is soOOooo important, for astrologers, or anyone into the healing arts to hear the advice of this wizened old Tree.

the Eye in the sky

…ever since the planet Neptune has been in the later degrees of the zodiac, the acceleration of novelty (new/mutant information complexification) and science (interconnected by default) have slowly blowing our changing minds.

In the 70′s, Neptune was in the middle to late degrees of Sagittarius.  This is where the constellation Ophiuchus resides; it also the center of the Milky Way Galaxy.  It is a place where you remember the Divine truth within your soul.

….people who have planets in these degrees of the zodiac will be heavily influenced by the Sag in those planets or angles.  It will make them preachy, or ‘enlightened.’

Now, Neptune is in the late degrees of Aquarius bringing on billions of blogs, billions of advancements, and billions of new neurons that are being created between all the Minds on the planet. You see, Neptune relates to the Collective Unconscious mind–it connects all of us.  (The Internet…oOo…..Indra’s net.) Our advancements have us tumbling into the uncertain future, with caffeinated eyes.

The planet Neptune is also about to move into Pisces–its own sign.  This Ingress will begin soon and last until 2012.  What can be expected?

?             ?           ?

loOk into the eye for the answer….:

the challenges of the 6th

In the West, we think of the 6th house as Work and Service, but also as the health of the Body.

In the East, they relate to it similarly, but make subtle differences:

1. It is a Dussthana house.  Houses 3, 6, 8, 12 are all Dussthana houses.  They are ‘bad’ and bring misfortune.

2. Medical karma: ie. Illness and disease are all in the 6th house.

3. Armies and Open enemies too (the US has a ton of planets in Scorpio in the 6th….mmMMMmmmmm)

….I feel we can cross pollinate the two systems by saying, “The sixth house is all about “getting real” with ourselves, and with our work in the world.  If we arent “being real,” we then pay the consequences.

We get sick, we go to war, we over work, we stress, we  , and we don’t take care of our pets (another 6th house issue)

Also, being that Virgo rules over the 6th house, and Mercury rules it, there is an interesting combination between Earth   (Virgo) and Air (Mercury).  It brings the Mind into the earth.  It grounds us, so that we can actually make a difference.

Lots of doctors will have heavy VIrgo in their charts.  As do mechanics.

What is related to your 6th House?
