the Sun as Father

Yesterday, I gave a reading to an old friend from my home town.  All other synchronicites  aside, we had a powerful experience involving her father.

Natally, she has the Sun at 1 degree Capricorn, with Neptune combust  in Sagitarrius (good timing for Ari’s above past)…meaning Pluto has been transiting this couple for a few years now.  I asked her about October of 08′, when the first hit was, and it was no short than an unexpected catastrophe that was completely unexpected. [ill keep it confidential].  As I started talking more about the Sun/Neptune aspect in her chart, I became curious about her Father, and if he was even around (the Neptuen loss).  She reported, “I have never met my true father.”

I ask, “Do you have a desire too?”; she nods.  In fact, she knows where he is: thanks to Facebook, and has been pondering this exact fact since her trauma back in 08′.

But this isnt even the kicker.  I just recieved an email saying that she took my advice to contact him, and to say hello; I told her, “to be the grown up.”  Well, she didnt get a hold of him, but talked to his daughter–her half sister, and it turns out, it was his birthday yesterday.  He just turned 50.  He is having his Chiron return.  And it is my bet that Chiron is either in the 4th/or 5th house (probably the 5th huh).

Isnt this a beautiful story.  26 years of estrangement, one reading, it all changes like that.

the challenges of the 6th

In the West, we think of the 6th house as Work and Service, but also as the health of the Body.

In the East, they relate to it similarly, but make subtle differences:

1. It is a Dussthana house.  Houses 3, 6, 8, 12 are all Dussthana houses.  They are ‘bad’ and bring misfortune.

2. Medical karma: ie. Illness and disease are all in the 6th house.

3. Armies and Open enemies too (the US has a ton of planets in Scorpio in the 6th….mmMMMmmmmm)

….I feel we can cross pollinate the two systems by saying, “The sixth house is all about “getting real” with ourselves, and with our work in the world.  If we arent “being real,” we then pay the consequences.

We get sick, we go to war, we over work, we stress, we  , and we don’t take care of our pets (another 6th house issue)

Also, being that Virgo rules over the 6th house, and Mercury rules it, there is an interesting combination between Earth   (Virgo) and Air (Mercury).  It brings the Mind into the earth.  It grounds us, so that we can actually make a difference.

Lots of doctors will have heavy VIrgo in their charts.  As do mechanics.
