Into the house of Reason. With Pluto in the 3rd house (or related signatures) we discover a fundamental need to set C4 onto every dendrite and infallible connection within the “rational mind.” What people “think” is true with this particular aspect, is bound to discover its falsity. It forces them to rebuild, reconnect, and reevaluate their entire mental matrix. Jeff Green Illuminates:
Pluto in the Third House or Gemini: emotional trauma can occur for the following causes:
1. When the water tight intellectual constructions that define not only these individuals’ sense of reality in general, but also the very core of their emotional security which is based on their intellectual constructions, becomes unraveled through intense, cataclysmic life experiences. The nature of these cataclysmic events forces them to change their way of thinking, of how they have understood the nature of things.
2. Emotional trauma can also occur when these people experience intense intellectual confrontations with others that poke holes in the water bags in such a way that they have no choice but to question their underlying assumptions about the nature of reality. Once the underlying assumptions are questioned and changed, the rest of their complex intellectual network also falls and changes. The emotional trauma is defined by a core instability and insecurity because of the need to change the nature of their intellectual framework, and how they communicate their ideas and opinions. The period of insecurity or trauma is defined by the amount of time it takes for these individuals to evolve into new ways of understanding.
When Pluto transits the Third House, forms stressful aspects through transit to natal Mercury, or to the planetary ruler of the Third House, or to planets in the natal Third House these issues can be generated with the subsequent trauma.
Some people who have this signature in their natal chart:
Carlos Casteneda, George Harrison, Kurt Cobain, Maurice Fernandez, Ezra Pound, Martin Luther King Jr., Isabelle Hickey, Quinten Tarenteno (with questionable time…?).
…when the dose is right, or when the aliens come in the night, the native with such a signature will be at a loss of words. Their “stable’ definition of their world will fall apart, into a thousand tiny pieces. This represents the Emotional Trauma, at which point their true transformation takes place.
Reason alone cannot explain the world; it falls short in too many ways. The world is stranger than we can suppose.
If you know any of these folks, or you yourself are experiencing a similar transit, tell them (yourself) One thing: You don’t know enough to worry! That usually works to short circuit the definitive nature of the righteous circuitry of this signature. Mercury alone cannot tackle God–it takes an army–it takes the entire zodiac; in fact, God cannot be tackled! Lol…..a koan.

Ha! Looks like I’m in good company there
My mental circuitry has been short-circuited for as long as I can remember – it’s this constant process of building new constructs to have them blown away – actually it’s very much like Milarepa’s test – when he was instructed by his guru to build the stone tower to then be told to tear it all down. It’s exactly like that! One can find no security in what one thinks they they or know. I stopped trying. It used to be soooooo serious – but now it’s an interesting thing to observe. The comment about not knowing how to communicate the thoughts or ideas is dead on. And there are times when there just isn’t anything that comes to mind to even say when confronted with new ideas. Love the koan. I’ll remember that one. Pluto will be aspecting natal Mercury and Jupiter here soon. That will be fun I bet. Now that he’s had his way with Venus (and Saturn in the same fell swoop!) I’ll let you know what’s happening with that on the other post
(tomorrow)
This is exciting! Love the mental stimulation!

What are the aspects in your natal chart? Please share….because it sounds like you resonate deeply with this signature.
I love Milarepa. He is my favorite Tibetan yogi. And ya, his eternal lesson of pointless construction/destruction is a wonderful example of this–though it may fall a little more snuggly into the Virgo realm (guilt, building, service, and penance…… etc).
Thank you so much for posting Vanessa. I hope you continue visiting, and helping build the energy on our blog.

Thank you for the kindness and encouragement, sOma ~ here’s my data – easier than trying to write it all out I think? July 13, 1954 – LA Cali – 3:21am Pluto is at 23 Leo in 3rd on IC
Milarepa ~ me too! What an inspiration his life is! And you’re right – it is much more in Virgo realm- the other side of Mercury
The point is in the doing, not the outcome – the ultimate detachment and liberation from the fruits of actions, isn’t it?
But that time, when he met his master, and what he went through – it has always stuck with me. I resonate with his actions, the guilt, need for penance (Venus in Virgo?) the endless building and tearing down. It’s a huge theme in life…Milarepa keeps me from going insane!
OM Shanti
Its always good to have our Inspirations! They do save, in so many ways. Have you seen the Milarepa movies?
Ok, casted your chart, and all my data is correct, yet I don’t see Pluto on the IC; its in the 3rd, but not on the IC…(do you use Porphyry? What house system do you use?). Well, it seems the last three posts, and the one today, will all apply to you: Pluto trine Mars, Pluto conjunct Venus, Pluto in the 3rd, and today–Pluto in the 4th, Moon, or Cancer–you have Pluto trine MOon. Wowza! Quite a combo. You have a beautiful chart Vanesssa.
What do you feel is going to happen when Pluto strikes your North node?
Thank you! First time I ever heard that about my chart *bowing from my heart to yours*
I just recently heard about the Milarepa movies and haven’t seen them yet – but I plan on viewing them soon as I can, yes!
I should have said – near the IC or conjunct the IC, huh? – usually I get 25 Leo for IC – using placidius – now I use dhruva galactic center ayanamsa with tropical rasis in Kala software and it’s the same – well, MC at 25 AQ.
Pluto is very prevalent, isn’t he? I never noticed the 1-2-3-4 signatures/pattern like I am right now – wow! (there goes another dendrite *snap*!)
My first thought back when I started looking at all outer planets from a vedic perspective (yes, it does exist and it’s pretty cool!) and noticed the slow approach to Rahu, I thought, that’s when I’m going to die. Gut reaction. I could be wrong. I’ll still be in Rahu dasa then – I have a long way yet to go…but being as it’s the 8th, ruled by Saturn in the 6th, I’d venture some type of catastrophic experience that will forever change my consciousness of separation from God! Perhaps by then (I hope) the ego will have been completely shattered and I will be ready to receive some benefit from the greatness of Saturn – compassion and a true, deep sensitivity and understanding of the suffering we all endure here because of this consciousness of separation. It is my understanding that Rahu/no node is what we are here to experience that’s completely new, so as to perfect and integrate towards spiritual liberation. Of course, it’s much more complex than that. Rahu and Ketu are the 1st and 7th house of our consciousness (Moon). Just as the ascendant shows our path in this earthly dimension, the nodes, Rahu in particular – is akin to the ascendent of the Mannas, where the Jiva dwells. A whole ‘nother dimension altogether! The magical and mystical realm of the Moon and the nodes. It’s quite fascinating and alluring! (and that is why I think I like studying the nakshatras so much too – because they’re beyond the ecliptic realm.)
So I think it will definitely be a tremendous rebirthing experience of some sort…that sounds pretty vague doesn’t it? It feels like everything in my life has been guiding me towards that point in time – because, at the same time, Pluto will be aspecting from the 7th from Cancerworld over there – like the last final phase of getting to every single planet in his sojourn. I’ll have to give this some deeper thought, open new doors – that’s for sure!
Thank you, sOma ~
Peace
I had forgotten that you were into Jyotish. It had been so long since we blogged on here, that had slipped my mind. ~*~
So, Rahu Mahadasha with Pluto approaching Rahu….!? You have nothing to worry about, because in India they don’t use Pluto, and in the chart I casted for you, Northnode is in the 7th, not the 8th; so no death, no worries!!! You couldnt even say it was a maraka house looking at it that way! lol….
(and on a serious note)
With Saturn being the ruler of the 8th, and deposited in the 6th, it could potentially bring health problems, but not for sure. I’m a strong believer in crafting your destiny. I feel that no matter what, there are certain experiences that we must face–thats the destined part—but we still have the choice of our reactions and actions. Being an astrologer, you know its coming, so why not prepare. Get healthier than ever, do puja and mantra for Rahu daily, make and alter for Pluto; all these activities could help propitiate the planets in a very powerful way. Don’t fall into the “I’m gonna die” thinking. Never helps.
I be sending lots of Golden QI.

funny mental image!!! “God cannot be tackled” – I don’t know why this brought to mind a large lineback or other sort of football-player type trying to forcefully ‘tackle God’ – and of course God sort of dissappearing and leaving the Football player there, thinking about how useless it is at times to address things with sheer force…
good one!
Sincerely, Pluto in 2nd-straddling-3rd House
Lol……that is a good image. Been so long since I wrote this, I hardly remember.
It’s wonderful this blog is still being stumbled on by fellow seekers. I didnt even know it was up! Ha…..
Oh, Pluto……
