Uranus
Many people confuse Aquarius with both Gemini and Sag. That’s understandable as all 3 archetypes relate to the mind in some way.
Sag is discovering the underlying nature of all things. Gemini is discovering the things of nature.
Both those archetypes have something to do with exploring reality in some way. Aquarius is not about either of those.
Aquarius is about evolving the brain… which translates to tapping into the potential of human being.
There are two facets to Aquarius that is well know: Freedom from the past (breaking free from conditioning) Accessing the future (inventively realizing new, smarter, evolved ways of being). Both those facets are intimately linked. In order to realize new potential, one has to liberate from adherence to the way things have been.
Objectivity
The only way to liberate is by developing an objective consciousness. This means the capacity to detach from any expectations of what anything is supposed to look, smell, taste, feel, sound (etc…) like.
Trauma
What keeps a soul in a state of limited awareness that prevents the clarity to see things as they are? The answer is trauma. Reality does not go out of its way to make sure no one gets shocked. All souls comes from numerous past lives in which it has witnessed and been subject to unspeakable persecution, death, oppression, rape, destructions, sudden and unexpected experiences of all kinds. Liberating from those shocks (by way of seeing it clearly without the interference of a subjective point of view) gives rise to a profound inner freedom to simply BE who one innately is. This means accessing the natural potential of a human being truly free from fear, repression or inhibition.
Friends
Friends and community are also commonly understood via the Aquarian archetype. The reason for this is because each soul gravitates and attracts to themselves other souls of like mind. Remember that the Aquarius archetype correlates to the mind- one’s natural intelligence, and the potential of that intelligence. The degree of intelligence accessed in a human being will differentiate one from the next. For example folks that are living purely within consensus values will not form community with folks who are living radically and experimenting with new ideas.
Ari

“Sag is discovering the underlying nature of all things. Gemini is discovering the things of nature….” is so simply and profoundly said. As they say on National Geographic, “Live curious.” So tell me Ari, how do you relate to the sign Uranus is in? (especially in the natal chart).
It’s how a soul is meant to work out it’s own freedom… and thus implies all the uranian/Aquarian tendencies for dissociation, paranoia, feeling imposed upon- limited by outside forces.
If we put Uranus in Sag, 9th house or connected to Jupiter we’re looking at the nature of one’s beleifs, how a soul creates thesis out of what happens in life. What is the purpose of life? what is the meaning of this? If we accept that THERE IS a truth underlying creation, how can that truth be known? Asking such a question, and battling with the differences between beleif and truth is the journey here for Uranus in such a position. The soul will battle with it’s own inner dogma- through noticing it’s feelings of alienation, exclusivity, elitist behavior, dissocation etc when it comes to how other people understand things. Often times, we will find in this soul’s path that persecution was linked to speaking the truth. This soul may have caused trauma via their own distorted belief systems, or have been subject to it.
The capacity to see things as they are is neccesary- Uranus here means being a scientist when it comes to finding the truth. For some souls this will be connected to worldwide politics, getting a grasp on what is going on from a clear and unbiased point of view- like looking at all the nations, politics etc from a very high mountain. For other souls this will be about their search for the underlying principals of creation itself. Truth must be accepted as tangible, accessible- found empirically via one’s own direct experience. and there would be a natural tendency to objectify spirituality as a system that can be understood, as it’s all about one’s direct experience- so how can something that is tangibly experiential not be explained somehow? the trick is to alway rebel from the knowing and return to the direct experinece of what is. uranus represents where we can get stuck in our brains!
A wonderful youtube from mr super aquarius, ken wilber, describes this principal very well.
well known uranus in the 9th= krishnamurti.
Also our friend antero alli
adam gainsburg uranus jupiter
adam somer
ari moshe
and so many other astrologers! uranus=astrology. jupiter=understanding of reality. so astrology has been adopted by many souls as a way to develop our capacity for direct perception of what is.
Being a very Aquarian being, I found this post really insightful. I’m actually a 33 yr old Pisces Sun, but with 10th Uranus square my 1st Aquarius Moon/Saturn 7th opposition, I truly feel I’ve been here much longer than 33 yrs. I’ve just had SO many diverse and mind-blowing (shocks) experiences that I’m nowhere close to where or what I was in the past.
I intially came in with the more sociopathic expression of Uranus, in that I was rebelling for the sake of rebellion. I was drawn to people who wore Anarchy t-shirts and green mohawks, and others into music like Ministry’s “The Mind is a terrible thing to taste” and Front 242 “Headhunter” before I was 11 yrs old. While there’s really wrong with any of that, it just didn’t seem to serve much aside from an angry ego. I had to learn some tough lessons, but eventually got that more extreme misdirected Aquarius archetypal energy out of my system, to make way for the Aquarian energy that serves the greater good in a more productive way. Anyways, just wanted to share some of my experience with Aquarius, and give my thanks for the post!
That you so much for sharing MoOn lover. Your experience is Aquarian indeed. Being so attracted to the fringe at such an early age says a lot of the Soul inhabiting this body. What are you doing now?
I’m a Registered Nurse by profession, but on the side I’ve been working on community initiatives for actual healthcare reform, and also working on creating my own practice as a Holistic Wellness RN/Coach. I’m also working with youth…I have a creative arts-like home (lots of music instruments, art room, etc) and they all hang at my house, as I have three kids myself. I figured may as well look into available grants and see if we can’t get a community center started. It’s all rather related, just still in the seedling form and rather hard to explain the vision. There just so many resources we have that we have not been using. I’d just hope to bring them out more naturally, which is way more financially feasible. Something is bound to flourish though, looks hopeful for 2012
